Olek Lejbzon Not To Be Trusted

Olek Lejbzon has got to be the worst furniture restoration company in the Tri-state. No wonder why they went from 50 employees in the city to less than 5 in NJ when Peter took over. I was told that my project would take 6 weeks to complete. 6 weeks came and went. Every time I called Peter Triestman, he said "it will be ready next week", "next week". He said that for a YEAR, and came up with excuses each week. Sometimes he'd ignore my calls and emails for a month at a time. To top it off, the finished product a year later was far from adequate. My friend recently gave them a chair to repair (don't know why, after my story), and Olek Lejbzon stole a part from the chair and damaged the fabric. When confronted, Peter claimed "it came like that" when my friend is POSITIVE that the part was NOT missing and the fabric was not damaged when he brought it to Olek. Peter took zero responsibility and tried to accuse my friend of lying. Stay away from Peter and Olek Lejbzon. They are nothing but heartache.

Post Mortem on this reviewer: Mod Restoration went bankrupt end of 2015. Hanny Lerner, its self-described "millionaire under 30" founder (WSJ self-puff piece) could not hold her company together, and tried to tear her successful competitors down before she failed.

Before going out of business, Mod Restoration was resorting to taking clients' checking accounts and stealing money from them using ACH withdrawals.

If Mod Restoration resurrects, don't trust them with your credit cards, checks, or treasured possessions. Their grim story appears in the filtered results of online reviews on Mod Restoration.

Peter and his team at Olek Restoration recently repaired and refinished a very special table that's been in my family for over 100 years. I live in a Brooklyn coop and the pickup, delivery and insurance coverage was executed smoothly and professionally as planned.

The table was beautifully restored to it's original splendor and will endure to provide pleasure for many generations to come. My experience was extremely positive and I can highly recommend Olek for knowledgeable and thoughtful furniture restoration.

The chair that Mod Restoration is referring to is the chair on the front page of their website. They could not repair the reupholstery.

We did repair it, and they refused to let us clean it when we pointed out the soiled fabric the moment they brought it into our shop. The chair was missing a glide, and they were incensed we would not give it to them for free, after a "professional discount". This is their payback for a fine repair job.

See their front page repair done by Olek Lejbzon & Co. here:

FYI – I filled out the contact form for pissedconsumer over the weekend and asked them to take it down, since there is no option for me to "delete". I havent heard back yet, but I will email them again if I don't hear back in the next couple days. If you have any idea how I can take it down, please feel free to advise.

Thanks.

You put up a false review and fail to take it down after being up for months, and call me rude? I think an apology is in order, not accusing me of being rude.

I took everything off ages ago. I dont know why that's still on, will look into it this week. Don't be rude Peter. It won't help you get anywhere...only hurt you.

Best regards,

Excellent Furniture Repair

Olek Lejbzon & Co. repaired my forty year old Plycraft Eames Style Lounge chair in a way that actually made it superior to the original chair. The owner and president of the company dealt directly with me. He was knowledgable of the chair, solicited photos of the damaged mechanism, proposed a solution and facilitated the complete restoration of the damaged area. Each person at the company was completely professional and personable. Maryann, the office manager, was expert is scheduling pick up and delivery dates, and did it all with skill and humor. The drivers were among the most careful and professional I have ever met and the craftsmen who actually did the work were definitely artists. Bravo and thank you to an outstanding company.

They repaired my Eames Lounge, restored a broken back shell, across the broken curved plywood, saving the original veneer. Nothing short of amazing, I thought the chair was finished, now it is like new. I can still cherish my grandfather's chair!
